Latino food distribution company announces $3.7M expansion in Horry County, will create 71 jobs


LORIS, S.C. (WBTW) — An organization that makes a speciality of distributing meals to Hispanic and Latino eating places plans to create 71 new jobs when it expands in Horry County, in keeping with an announcement Thursday from Gov. Henry McMaster’s workplace.

“Carolina Meals Service of Loris has been an asset to our space for greater than a decade,” Horry County Council Chairman Johnny Gardner mentioned within the written announcement. “We’re happy with their success and belief in our space. The growth of Carolina Meals Service proves that our space has the enterprise local weather, workforce, infrastructure, neighborhood assist and perception in our leaders to achieve success in Horry County. Carolina Meals Service will make investments $3.7 million within the space, in keeping with the announcement. The corporate offers meals in North and South Carolina, together with merchandise resembling meat, condiments and spices.

The corporate plans to purchase 9 further acres so as to add 20,000 sq. toes to its present location in Loris Commerce Park, in keeping with the announcement. It has acquired a $100,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant for building.
